Airman Rodney S. Stewart, son of Shirley Naylor of Clinton and Rodney Stewart of Dunn, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2012 graduate of Midway High School, Newton Grove.

Airman Merrill T. Locklear, son of Marilyn Locklear of Lumberton, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2009 graduate of South Robeson High School.

Airman 1st Class Sean A. Jeffcoat, son of Barbara and Paul Jeffcoat of Fayetteville, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He graduated in 2007 from Jack Britt High School and received a bachelor's in 2011 from Elon University.

Airman 1st Class Nicholas P. Eckley, son of Peter and Linda Eckley of Sanford, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. He is a 2008 graduate of Lee County High School and received an associate degree in 2011 from Central Carolina Community College, Sanford.

Seaman Recruit Marino R. Gillis, son of Judy B. Gillis of Aberdeen, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2011 graduate of Pinecrest High School, Southern Pines.

Seaman Recruit Devon W. Martin, son of Lisa M. and stepson of Mark E. Tiemeier of Salemburg, has completed Navy basic training at Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, Ill. He is a 2012 graduate of Lakewood High School, Salemburg.

Reserve Airman Sterlyn D. Newkirk, daughter of Stacey Orr of Hope Mills and Stephon Newkirk of Greenville, has graduated from Air Force basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio. She is a 2012 graduate of Cape Fear High School.
