Arriving in response to an earlier report by DigiTimes, Daring Fireball?s John Gruber has this weekend portrayed that the rumored March launch timeframe of the iPad 3, is ?completely accurate?.
The report arrives as Gruber was seen to quote the first half of DigiTimes? original article, which read as follows:
Apple will ship the so-called ?iPad 3? with a full HD display in March [?]
He then followed the excerpt with the following sentence:
Wait a minute. What?s going on here? A DigiTimes report about Apple and the iPad that?s completely accurate? No completely made-up nonsense? Is something wrong with me?
Regarding the second part of DigiTimes? article, (in which the publication claimed Apple?s fourth-generation iPad could hit shelves as early as this October), Gruber dismissed this with a sarcastic, ?OK, phew, what a relief.?
Sure, Gruber could have just been making fun on the simple fact that DigiTimes has been central to several recent reports, all of which are bold in their claims regarding Apple?s future product announcements.
Or perhaps there is more to this than meets the eye? ? As noted by AI, the post is ?tongue-in-cheek? and, as such, you are advised not to take this report too seriously, just yet. After all, it?s not as if Apple does have plans to launch its ?iPad 3? sometime this March, that it will be ?breaking? news ? especially given the original iPad (and iPad 2) were both launched around this same time of year.
